This issue of IMG Journal emerges from a shared inquiry into the ways imaging practices operate at the threshold of perception, materiality, and atmosphere. Rather than approaching images as self-contained visual objects, the contributions gathered here consider imaging as a set of situated procedures –technical, sensory, spatial, and speculative– through which affective and environmental conditions become perceptible without necessarily becoming fully visible.
